I just finished my second year of doing triathlons…it was a year in which I completed my first Ironman. I also found myself not being able to compete at Worlds Long Course Championships in Australia due to caring for my father as he went through cancer treatment.
I learned that the journey to an Ironman can be self center but that I could balance that with being available for my family and friends. I also learned that training and preparing for an Ironman is the hard part. The actual race is just the icing on the cake.
When I signed up for my first Ironman I decided I wanted to take the opportunity to raise awareness for recovery from mental illnes. I work as a mental health therapist at the Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) and the people I work with have more strength, determination, and resiliancy than I can only strive to have. They inspire me to try harder and be a better person, and for that I am grateful!

I look forward to sharing this incredible journey with my friends and family and whoever else may follow me over the next year…. Here’s to LIVIN LIFE TO IT’S FULLEST!!!!!!!!
